A theory well worth the effort

I'm taking a little break from writing my research paper to share that I am almost there! Whew! As I got to know Louise Rosenblatt a little better through all the research I went through, it's a wonder how much this woman has contributed to the teachings of literature. Wow! Her first article was on the emergence of Transactional Theory in 1938, and her more recent one in 1991 on the two stances of reading. That equals over a half a century of literary research contribution. Plus, I read she is one of the most cited in all over literary research........ I want to be like her when I grow up =)

  1. I agree with you when you said you got to know this amazing woman a lot better. It is unbelievable to think that with technology on the rise we are still using a theory that was founded in 1938. Incredible. :)

  8. I honestly thought that she was very courageous to insist and change the literary world from focusing on the text to focusing on the reader. This was a huge paradigm shift in the methods of literary criticism.
