Last Day of Face-to-Face Class

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I never really believed that until our class activity today. Aside from the graffiti board, today's lesson included drawing a picture about meanings from the book we read. I had to think really hard, but finally created one. With just three pictures, I was able to bring to life what one page in the book was trying to say.

The second literacy strategy was "say-ask-find-write." Because this one demanded that I think deeper about what I was writing, it was more enjoyable to do. Trying to find an unfamiliar word from the reading is a good feature because it pushes the student to explore something new.

After today, we will be trying something new-fully online instruction from our professor in the M.I. I am excited as well as skeptical to try this course fully online.

Have a safe trip Dr. Rivera!

  1. The online sessions will definitely be a new experience for me as well. Looking forward to learning with the rest of the class.

  2. Drawing always helps me to illustrate something I cannot easily say through words, and for students who are more visual learners, I think this will be very effective.
