Stretching our Imaginations through Sketches

It's sad to think that this is the last time that we are going to have face-to-face meetings for this class. I am not quite sure how many times I have said it before, but this class is really fun and I actually learn a lot. It is what my students would call 'fun-ducational'.

The most recent activity that we have done in class is the Sketch to Stretch activity and I think that it gives the students the freedom to draw what they think is appropriate to what they understand from the story. The sky is the limit for this activity because there is no right or wrong answer answer which also helps in boosting their confidence. The part where the other students from the group guesses what the sketch might mean is also fascinating because it engages the students with their classmate's work and opens communication.

  1. Fun-ducational...Nice I might have to steal that one. I agree that the sketches will be a hit in class.

  5. Sheena, you are right when you say that there can be no wrong or right answer. I'm afraid it might be hard to assess student learning if this is the case. Other than that, I agree the students will enjoy this fun-ducational activity.
