What have you got to say?

Today was a very informative day. We learned the importance of knowing our students and to be able to relay information to them in such a way that they will be able to remember what you told them. Our students come from various backgrounds, each experiencing different things throughout the course of their lifetime. It is up to us teachers to be able to take that and help them build on their schemas. An effective teacher considers where they come from, what they already know and is flexible enough to change their delivery of lessons upon what they learn in the classroom.

  1. I agree with your description of an effective teacher. It is critical to remain flexible as a teacher and always have a back-up plan...Or two.

  2. I agree with all of you. I think that not only do we need to broaden our schema to know and understand our student s better but we also need to make sure that we really listen to them when they tell us something.
