We just finished reading our 12-paged course syllabus for this class and I must admit it is a bit overwhelming. I already know that this will be an intense course mainly due to the fact that we only have ten meetings; however, I am confident that I will be learning a great deal in this course. It is impressive to know that our work is already presented to us on the first day of classes, the level of professionalism and the expectations required to pass this class. The class syllabus entails that we will be reading a novel Under the Blood Red Sun by Graham Salisbury which I am curious to find out how other content areas aside from Language Arts or reading could actually use this as a tool for learning.
I'm just as curious also, but we can definitely figure it out.
ReplyDeleteI also am very curious how to integrate a novel into my math classes. I think this class is going to give us a different perspective to use when teaching.
ReplyDeleteI agree. The interdisciplinary unit sounds interesting and the activity will definitely help us become stronger, well-rounded educators. We will be ready for next SY!
ReplyDeleteAwesome Sheena! Thanks for reminding me. I totally forgot about how our other classes (not to mention any) were very...simple. I'm glad to know that we will be working hard for this class.
ReplyDeleteYes, it does sound overwhelming, but I think it will be a great learning experience for us.
ReplyDeleteIt does seem overwhelming, but don't worry. We'll get through it as a class. No fair quitting!!
ReplyDeleteSheena, as I told Vonnie - YOU CAN DO IT. My excitement is shadowing the fear and intimidation the syllabus seems to project.
ReplyDeleteAs I replied to one of our other members, I, too am very curious about this book.
