Today we had the opportunity to engage in the idea of Transactional theory. I have learned new ideas of incorporating reading into our content to encompass two important factors like knowledge and emotions/experiences. Also, like the part of text being text until someone reads it to become alive or part of you.
Whereas, in our literacy circle, I leaned that we have birthday celebrants that passed and coming soon. Catherine and Vonnie are the birthdays this month with TJ too. "Happy B-Day" to all three of you. Aside from the birthdays, I had some fresh insights as to writing my Transactional paper and hope to finish early.
Lastly, I can't believe we are almost done with this semester, "Oh Yeah". This coming Wednesday is our last face to face and I will be missing my classmates...until the T/TH class.
Food, Fun, & Fellowhip...

Thanks for the birthday shout out!! And we will all miss you too until of course Tuesdays and Thursdays. That being said, i think that all of the strategies we learned about today are great ways to get the students involved and to help them to relate to the characters. About the paper due, I think I'll still be cramming. I'm the world's biggest procrastinator!!! Good luck to you though.
ReplyDeleteClint, I agree. If it were not for the interactive activities, I think I would have found Under the Blood Red Sun another required assignment. We have all shared and crystallized the story to fit all our schemas. What business books do you have in mind to relate with your students - How to swim with the sharks?
ReplyDeleteYup. That's what transformation is about. Changing the reader and hopefully they internalize what they just read.
ReplyDeleteThanks, G-man! And, yes, the Transactional Theory is very interesting. I may actually enjoy the assignment we have to present about this theory. No, that's not true, but I will find it more enjoyable than other assignments, that's for sure.
