This assignment was really interesting and is a great preparation for the upcoming school year because it deals with helping students who are culturally and linguistically diverse. Reading is so important that as educators, we have a responsibility to encourage the love for it. I especially liked http://mandygregory.com/reading_strategies.htm because it explains in detail what needs to be done to effectively execute the strategies mentioned in her website. There are also examples and printable worksheets that could be used in the classroom.
There are so many new strategies that I learned from this research and others that I have already used in the class such as the KWL chart and role playing but I am excited to incorporate the other strategies that I've acquired in this reseach and those we utilized in class.
I liked her website as well. I do see you using most if not all of the strategies in your content area. I am sure your classes will be varied and lively.

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean.It is so wonderful that there are many different websites to choose from especially because all students are different, as with any class- that what may work with one student may not work with another so it helps that there are other sites to tap into.
