one more face to face meeting.

I enjoyed the character journal activity. I wanted to be Keet because he is portrayed as a bully and a bad person. Reading it at first I felt that way about his character but as i reflect and put myself in his shoes. I think there is more to him than the book portrays. Under the circumstances and the events that follow how do you blame him. Such a young person made to have an opinion on something any kid should not have to face.

It just makes me wonder about the kids in the middle east. What do they think about our kids and in general the american people. Who really cares about what their leaders think. Children will tell you what they think and what they learn from the parents because racism starts at home. Children do not learn to be racist at school or the play ground. They learn that from the most significant person in thier lives, which are thier parents, siblings and grandparents. This why I think racism is a disease that has no cure because if you learn it from the person you respect the most; it must be right. Change must come your homes...

  1. I so agree with you. It would have been fun to create a character journal of Keet. I would play on his fears and need to be loved.
