Today was another busy class. We went over Rosenblatt's Transactional Theory in the Teaching of Literature, the character journal, and literacy strategies (SQCP). I really enjoyed the character journal. It was fun to get into the mind of the character that you have chosen and to think out loud about what you really think that the character is thinking. It was fun to listen to all the different characters that the class chose to write on and to hear their perspectives. This is something that I think students would enjoy doing in class. The literacy strategy (SQCP) was also very enjoyable and I think that it would be very useful to use in the classroom. It is fun and engaging and you are doing your work without even realizing it.
Yes, we did do a lot today! But they were all useful activities for us to use in the classroom :)

ReplyDeleteI agree, it was fun to hear about who picked what character to do the activity. It was also fun to see what each of us had to say after choosing a character.
