Today was another great class. We discussed about schema and how there are areas that we need to improve on to broaden our schema with more information. I enjoyed the activity worksheets that we engaged in-another way to get to know each other and learn something new :) I will incorporate activities like these ones during my first week of school as icebreakers. It will allow the students to get more comfortable with each other. Also, I enjoyed our listening activity. It was harder than I thought-to repeat EXACTLY what your partner said. This was a great practice for us to understand that listening skills are very important. Also, it was a great activity for me to learn MORE about my partner, Gemma.
I thought the same thing, Nani! I can't wait to use the activities as ice breakers. I also found it much harder to repeat exactly what Sheena said.
ReplyDeleteI so love your picture Nani! So glad that the activities we did helped us learned more about each other.
ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed the activities. They were fun and informative. I think our students would also enjoy doing activities like these in class.
ReplyDeleteI agree, this would be a good icebreaker at the beginning of school. It will also give the students from the outer islands self-confidence because there are things that they could actually teach their classmates.

ReplyDeleteI definitely learned a lot more about Ervin during the listening activity. These are really great ice breaker activities.
ReplyDeletei agree this class flys by real fast. listening is a skill; some people are not good at it. but i hear only what want too. so i am a bad listener.
ReplyDeleteI reflect back as I started in this program...Mrs. Abaday said that my classmates would be my support cirle...she was right and I am go glad that you all accepted me into your circle. Again, Dr. Rivera hit her target...we not only learned but smiled as we exited out of class (we won't mention sweating).
