think of summer, I picture myself sleeping in, going to the beach, catching a movie or doing anything spontaneous. In all my years at the University of Guam, I've never taken a summer course. So of course, you can imagine my reluctance coming to class today. From experience, because of the quickness of the MAT program and the obvious rigorousness of graduate courses, I was expecting a tough professor demanding this assignment and that, done by this date or else. Going through the syllabus, I wasn't surprise with the work. I, however, was surprised by how nice and personable our professor is. The minute she said "online sessions", I was ready to give a standing ovation. :D I'm sure this month will go by quickly, learning a lot from Dr. Rivera and my new set of classmates.

Yes, I agree. I would like to be spending my summer OUTSIDE the classroom, but it's our sacrifice for now. I am glad that half our class is online :)
ReplyDeleteYou can be spontaneous...Before 4:30pm and after 8pm. I appreciate the online sessions as well.
ReplyDeleteFunny picture and nice to meet you. In regards to summer thinking of sleeping in, parties, and no work has been changed from MAT fast track.
ReplyDeleteHave a great summer anyways!
I enjoy Dr. Rivera's mild-mannered introduction to the course. She creates a seemingly calm atmosphere in a chaotic schedule of summer learning.
ReplyDeleteI have taken the summer classes at UOG before, but they were always scheduled in the mornings. It's so sad that we are here in the evening when everyone else is out enjoying the beach! Nonetheless, let's keep our eye on the prize and get our MAT!
ReplyDeleteYes...summer requires lots of fun, but because we are the future teachers of Guahan we must push on. Before you know it, it's funtime!!
