Evelyn's June 9, 2010 Reflections

So many more new things introduced and digested in class today. I learned personally that I have to do more research into the culture of Guam's neighboring island friends. Just add that to my to do list that never seems to end. On a positive note the activities introduced to better shape the meaning of the word "schema" to me was perfect. I only hope and pray that I can be as creative to bring activities to the classroom that will bring the subject matter to LIFE. I appreciated the Micronesian Hunt, Hello, and Listening activities.

  1. Oh yes Ev, the To Do List just keeps getting longer but with this class of "no pressure" I feel more confident in tackling all that's due.And not to worry,I too, missed two of the Hello words, even though we just went through them.I'm collecting all these various activities to share with my future students.

  2. I like your picture of a life saver. Today we really got lively in our "schema" of how well we know our micronesian cultures. This class really brings content to life and interesting.

  3. I was late to class, so I completely missed the "schema" activity that everyone is mentioning. I guess I will have to read more on it off the Moodle. As for the Listening Activity I found it interesting that I could recall everything Cat said, but when it was time to recall what I had said, I could not remember my own comments.
