Today's class was fun. We did several different activities. I especially liked the activity that made us go around and see which one of our classmates did certain things. It was fun to see who did what in their lives. The other activity had us learn how to say hello in different neighboring languages. This is good to know because the Guam Public School System today is very diverse in terms of ethnicity. By knowing how to greet in different languages you can make a new student feel more welcome to your class. Also, we wrote about chapters 3 and 4 of Under the Blood Red Sun. The chapters were interesting and gave the reader a deeper knowledge about some of the main characters as well as introduced some new characters as well.
Oh yes, indeed. My favorite activity that we participated in today was the Micronesian Hunt. This activity would certainly engage all students especially those that are new to the island or are just shy.Discussing chapters 3 and 4 in our Literature circle was very informative as we read each others thoughts and gave our comments.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Cat on this...the Micronesian Hunt activity is a good ice breaker.
ReplyDeleteThat activity of us going around really showed how we really lack alot of the experience related to the micronesian culture. On the other hand, we did good in the listening activity.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the book is getting more n depth with characters and let the action begin.
I missed the Micronesian Hunt Activity, but the book, Under the Blood Red Sun is an excellent choice for Literature Circle. I love the way this story unfolds the characters that are important in Tomi's life.
